THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG
The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) is a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution leading the development of CM in Hong Kong. Controlled by the Health Bureau and operated under a public-private partnership model, CMHHK was financed by the HKSAR Government, which selected Hong Kong Baptist University as the contractor through tendering procedures in 2021. HKBU incorporated the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator to manage, operate and maintain the hospital.
Since commencing phased services in December 2025, CMHHK offers comprehensive CM care ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promotes advanced and specialised CM treatments. As a pioneer in integrated Chinese-western medicine (ICWM), CMHHK addresses diverse patient needs through inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and community-based services. With 65% of services government-subsidised and the remainder market-oriented, the hospital ensures accessible healthcare while meeting the diverse needs of the community.
With a strong commitment to education, training, innovation and research—including collaboration with local and overseas universities to advance evidence-based clinical studies and develop CM theories and clinical applications—CMHHK is now looking for the following talent to join our team.
Hospital Foreman (Mortuary) (26118)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily mortuary services including receipt, handling, preparation, and release of bodies;
- Coordinate body viewing, identification, and release procedures with compassion and professionalism;
- Ensure mortuary cleanliness, proper functioning of equipment, and compliance with hospital safety standards;
- Conduct daily body inventory checks, maintain death records, and handle coroner case documentation;
- Lead frontline staff, monitor discipline and performance, and arrange training;
- Oversee safe disposal of clinical waste in compliance with hospital regulations;
- Stand by for emergency duties, adverse weather reporting, and hospital safety incidents; and
- Carry out ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ supervisory experience in hospitals, hotels, cleansing services, facilities management, or related industries and preferably completion of Form 5 or Secondary 5 education or equivalent;
- Able to write Chinese and speak fluent Cantonese and have some knowledge of English;
- Pleasant and mature personality, interested to work in hospital environment with patients;
- Able to adapt to work in mortuary;
- Relevant experiences in hospital / health care setting;
- Knowledge of PC applications;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Basic knowledge in bereavement care.
Work location: The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O.
