Day-patient services refer to non-emergency Chinese medicine treatments, typically allow for same-day discharge. A series of consultations, assessments, treatments, training, investigations, monitoring and care during morning and/or afternoon sessions will be scheduled for suitable patients. Day wards are designed for patients receiving complex Chinese medicine interventions, requiring close monitoring of post-medication reactions, or receiving services provided by multidisciplinary or cross-specialty clinical teams.

Government-subsidised Services and Market Oriented Services will be provided through Day-patient Services:

• 25 beds in service during the first year of commencement, with 16 beds for Government-subsidised patients and 9 beds for market-oriented patients.
• The number of beds will gradually increase to 90 (excluding paediatric day beds).

Services:

• Special Disease Programme-centred.
• Management of complex or sequential Chinese Medicine treatments, such as fumigation, baths with the use of Chinese Medicines, and the external application of Chinese medicines.
• One-stop, multidisciplinary day ward treatment.
• Team collaboration, with Chinese Medicine Practitioners, Western Medicine Practitioners, and Allied Health professionals jointly managing complex cases.
• Arrangements for patients to undergo a series of diagnostics, assessments, treatments, and nursing care within the same timeslot.

Day-patient Services only accept bookings through referral.
